Do you often need to sacrifice time with family and friends due to work obligations? <\/span>\n<p style=\"font-size: 16px;\">We all know the common sources of stress in today\u2019s fast-paced workplaces \u2013 looming deadlines, impatient bosses, unrealistic targets, always being on call\n\u2013 and most of us are feeling the pressure. Indeed, according to the American Institute of Stress (AIS), <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stress.org\/workplace-stress\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">80% of people feel stressed at work<\/a> , and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report that 75% of all doctors\u2019\nvisits are due to stress.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-size: 16px;\">However, just because this kind of stress is common doesn\u2019t mean you have to accept it. Allowing it to pile up and grow over time can have serious implications\nfor your physical and mental well-being and could eventually lead to a major burnout.<\/p>\n\n<h2 style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><strong>Proactive st<span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">ress mana<\/span>gement<\/strong><\/h2>\n<span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Fortunately<\/span><em style=\"font-size: 16px;\">, <\/em><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">there are plenty of practical steps that you can take to manage your stress before things reach this drastic level. Here are a few examples:<\/span>\n<ul>\n \t<li style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><strong>Identify and eliminate problematic habits.<\/strong> Some of your workplace stress may be caused by external factors \u2013 for example, a difficult\nclient or a crowded daily commute \u2013 but some may be caused by <a href=\"https:\/\/emergeperformance.net\/zh\/articles\/breaking-free-with-mindfulness\/\">behaviour<\/a> that is within your control. If you typically check your work email late at night and then have trouble falling asleep because your mind is racing\nwith workplace issues, try going one week without looking at emails after office hours. Chances are that you won\u2019t be able to act on any after-hours\nemails until you\u2019re back at the office in the morning, so why spend your night worrying about them?
